Brigantes Co-Founder Ordained

Charles Cowling, Past Master Actuary and one of the four co-founders of Brigantes, was Ordained by the Bishop of Carlisle on Saturday 1st July

Following three years of training, Charles Cowling (centre below) has been Ordained in Carlisle Cathedral with five fellow Ordinands and has taken up his Ministry in the Carlisle Diocese.

In parallel Charles will continue his career as a senior professional in the Pensions industry. He is currently Chief Actuary at Mercer and in 2024 is due to be elected President of the International Actuarial Association.  

As many Liverymen will know, through his long distance running Charles is an avid charity fundraiser, having completed numerous marathons both on the flat and in through rugged terrain. 

Charles also has a passion for music, especially choral and church music, and is a member of the Manchester Chamber Choir and Herdwyck Consort.
